One of the singing teachers at the Royal College of Music, London, passed away when Mr. Henry Blower died little more than a month ago. Mr. Blower joined the staff of the Royal College in 1886. He rapidly made his way, and established his reputation when, in 1892, Madamo Clara Butt, who had studied with him for three years, came out at the Albert Hall in "The Golden Legend," and in the same week sang in the Royal College's performance of Gluck's "Orpheus" at the Lyceum Theatre. From that time till illness ended his labours Mr. Blower was in great request, adding much private work to his duties at tho College. Among his' pupils were Mr. Ivor Foster. Miss Maria Yelland, and Mr. Spencer Thomas. Mr. Blower was himself a pupil of the late Mr. J. B. Welch, and sang as one of the chief basses at the Leeds Festival in 1883. He. was 62 yeaTS of age. The water-colour drawings unsold at the auction sale on Friday are now for private sale. There are some charming pictures in this collection, which would, make beautiful Christmas gifts, and the prices have been fixed extremely low. They are on view daily, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Messrs. William H. Turnbull and Co.'s gallery, 27 Panama Street. GAVE HERSELF UP AS DONE.
