After a heroic;and successful struggle, ■a girl rescued her father from •drowning at Rottnest Island: It ..appears that Mr. Waters, the light-keeper at the Batlrurst Point lighthouse, and his daughter, aged 18, wore fishing in a dinghy, which was upset in the breakers in a narrow 'passage. Mr. Waters was unable to swim, r but his daughter was a powerful ■ swimmer. Time after time the pair were washed from the upturned boat, and the girl each time brought her father back. Several times the boat overturned on top of the man, and the girl dived under and dragged him out. The struggle lasted.an hour, until help was forthcoming.
