Christchurch. for .£4l 17s. lOd. for typewriter and general The defendant counter-claimed.for .£l9 as commission on two typewriter machines, or in the alternative possession of the' machines. Mr E. C. Lewey appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr. B. Kennedy for the defendant. The case was part heard, and then an adjournment till to-day was made.

POLICE CASES. Mary Jane Smylie and Margaret Webb wore each sentenced to three months imprisonment for having insufficient lawful means of support.
