WONDERFUL SURGERY. New York, December 1. To die three times beforo her life 'was finally extinguished has been tho experience of .Mrs.,.Marie Care, of Columbus, Ohio. The woman was undergoing an operation for the removal of some tubercular glands, when. she. apparently expired. Oxygen was promptly administered, and life was restored, but an hour later, just as the surgeons v:ere completing the operation, .the woman again ceased to breathe. So satisfied were the doctors this time that ttie patient had passed beyond all human aid that her husband and other relatives were smn'inoned, and preparations were mado for the removal of the body. As a last resort, however, one of the surgeons made an incision In the chest, and by means of a hypodermic syringe injected adronalin into the lieart. Although, the heart had ceased to beat for 10 minutes, its action was resuscitated in 10 seconds, and respiration was restored within "an hour and a half. A remarkablo case is now engaging the attention of the Courts in Madras, where a Hindu is suing- Mrs..Annie Besant, the •famous Theosophist, for the restitution of his two young sons, who are being educated under her direction hi England. The plaintiff alleges that Mrs. Besant reported at intervals that the boys were progressing towards their initiation into her cult. Sho told him that one of the lads was going to be Lord Christ, with the result that the boy was deified, many people prostrating themselves before him. The defence was that the boy was not deified.
