PTOMAINE POISONING. Dunodin, December 13. Ivy Beatrice Peorce, aged 10 years, daughter of John F. Pcarce, railway guard, of Caverslmm, died at her parents' residence Inst night'under circumstances pointing to ptomaine poisoning. TJid lather and four children were token- ill simultaneously, and the youngest child was in a 'very low state for a time, but is now improving. At the inquest, a verdict was returned that death was duo- to ptomaine poisoning as a result of eating decomposed rabbit. POLITICAL ADDRESS. Wanganui, December 13. Mr. W. A. Voitch, JLP., addressed the electors to-night on the work of Inst session. AN OLD MAN'S DEATH. Invcrcarnlll, December 13. The police have received advice that an old man named Sutherland, residing at Calcium, near Fairfax, has been found dead. It appears that on Monday last a baker called on. him to ascertain whether ho wanted bread. Sutherland then complained of feeling unwell, but apparently ho did not convey the impression that he was seriously ill. To-day the baker mado another rail and discovered Sutherland in a kneeling posture, dead. An inquest will bo held. PAHIATUA & MAILS. Paliiatua, December 13. A meeting of Pahiatim dozens this afternoon rigorously refuted- the statements madeto-day by a Pahiatua Pivss Association message, and reiterated statemejits made in Pahiatua at 'Wednesday night's meeting.
