HOSPITAL COMMITTEE.
At the meeting, of the Hospital Committee held yesterday, afternoon the following report of the House and Finance Subcommittee was adopted:— That the system of heating with Ideal boilers be instituted, as provided in the contract, in the out-patients' and pathological' block. That the resignations of Charge Nurses Faram and Ferguson be accepted with regret. That Mrs. Hickson be appointed head laundress at £2 15s/per week. That Dr. Hardwicke Smith be authorised when at Home, to make inquiries for an expert bacteriologist, and that he be empowered to engage a suitable, man at a salary not exceeding iiGOO per annum'. That, as recommended by the medical superintendent, the visiting days at tho Children's Hospital be Wednesdays and Sundays only, Iroin 2 p.m. to 3 p.iii. That Messrs. Trevor, Godber, M'Ewan, and Baldwin confer regarding the system of purchasing of provisions. The Otaki sub-committee report, which was adopted, recommended:— Thut'Dr. H. Patersou be thanked for his services as acting-medical officer at Otaki Hospital aud Sanatorium, and that tho arrangements for relieving by. Dr. Overton until Dr. Hulhwaite's return he approved. ." That tho -matron be authorised to expend up. to .£lO for extras at Christmas. The resignation of Mr. W. Tompsitt was accepted with regret.
