. UNIONIST HOPES AND FEARS. By Tclegraph-Preas Association-Copyright London, December 11. The "Liverpool Courier" has made an urgent appeal to Lord Lansdowne, Loader .of the Opposition in the House of Lords, to reconsider his decision and renew the pledgo to submit Tariff Reform to a referendum. This, the journal declares, is the only way to. save Yorkshire and Lancashire for' the Unionists. The latter desire a speedy dissolution, but fear the Government may. escape by means of an irrelevant free-food cry.
