On the occasion of the King's visit to tho Hon. John Ward at Chilton (Uerkshire) tho townspeople of Hungerford sent a dish of six trout for his Majesty's dinner. Kennot trout are famous, and tho inhabitants of Hungerford have had tho right of free fishing since the days of Edward 111. Tho lung reached Hungerford by special train on October 21 at 7A5, and at the station, in accordance with an ancient tradition of tho town, his Majesty waa presented with, a red. rose.
