ARE BOOM TIMES COMING?
IN GOLDMINING. (By Tolejraph— Press Association.) Auckland, December 10. 'At the annual meeting of the Stock 'Exchange Mr. Buttle (chairman) advocated public bodies raisins loans locally in such way as to offer investment by. the man of small means. Speaking of the cry of State control of municipal concerns, he instanced the success of tho Auckland Tramway Company with tho municipal-ity-owned trnm services in 'Wellington, Ciiristchurch, and Dunedin. Despite tho present depressing condition of goldmining ho expressed tho conviction that it would again be boom times for the industry. Mr. W. B. Colbeck was elected chairman for tho ensuing year.
