A Blenheim Wedding. Tho marriago of Mr. W. T. Churchward, barrister and solioitor, Blenheim, to Itiss Lucy Skinner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Skinner, of Blenheim, took place in tho Church of tho Nativity, Blenheim, on December 3. Tho Von. Archdeacon -Grace performed tho ceremony, and tho church had been decorated for tho occasion by tho girl friends of the bride. Miss Serena Rogers, A.T.C.L., played the organ. The brido was given away by her father, and wore a gown of white satin with a long, square-cut train, and bodice draped with a fichu of old Honiton lace. Her veil was also of old Honiton, and she wore hev present from the bridegroom, a pendant of diamonds and pearls set in platinum, and carried a sheaf of lilies. Miss Skinner (sister) and Miss Matthows (cousin) were tho bridesmaids, and wore frocks .of mniiecokmral charmeuse, with yokes of iinw gold embroidery and lace fichus. Their large Mack hats were trimmed with b'rrnk lace, with a bright touch of colour underneath the brim to match their bouquets of Oriental poppies, ranunculus, nnd shaded leaves. Their presents from tho bridegroom were pendants of antique silver, set in topaz and amethysts respectively. . The bride's mother wore a ,gown of black Inco, embroidered in white, and a black plumed hat with red voses -under' the brim, t" harmonise with her bouquet. Mrs. Churchward wore green striped taffetas, a black lace scarf, and blac.lt feathered hat. A reception was held after the ceremony at tho residence of Mr. and Mrs. Skinner, and later in the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Churchward left for the Sounds, tho latter travelling in a coat and skirt of biscuir-colonred cloth, nnd while hat lined with black ninon and wreathed.with shaded roses., Acknowledgment. The secretary of the Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board desires to acknowledge tho following further donations to tho Christmas fund:—Messrs. Tho Empire Box Co., G. Winder, Abbott, Oram annd Co., Cederhohn and Son, W. J. Gaudin and Son, Craig and Co. (half a guinea each); Mr. F. Moriug (ten shillings); flags, R. G. Knight.

Madame Kirkby Lunn's attention was drawn last week to the fact that excellent rugs were manufactured in New Zealand. Anxious to see for herself what they were like, sho took advantage. of tho opportunity given her of inspecting a stock of Petone rugs, and so pleased was sho with thcin that she at once made a purchase, expressing at the same time her opinion that they were the finest of their kind that sho had seen. Amone the visitors staying nt the Occidental Hotel are Mrs. T. Bevan (Manuknu) and Miss Bevnn, Miss rTurley (Levin), Airs, and the Misses (2) M'Lnrcii (Masterton), Mr. and Mrs. Cossentine (Cliristchurch). Mr. and Mrs, Gorringo (MangawekaT, Mr. and Miss Clark (Levin), Mr. nnd Mrs. Pollock (Hastings), Miss Bourko (Sydney), Mr. Sykes, M.P. (Masterton), Mr. Carl ICohn (Rarotonga), and Mr. Taylor. Mrs. Coverdale, Lower'Hutt, leaves today for Wnnganui to-attend the, annual, prize-riving of the Wanganui Collegiate School on December 18. Miss Strack, of'Hawera, has received an appointment as ' assistant domestic science instructress at the Dunedin University; She will commence her new duties on January 6, states the "StnT." Mr. Justice Chapman and Mrs. Chapman have moved into Miss Richmond's house in Hobson Street. Miss Butts intends leaving Wellington early "next, j'enr on a visit to England. During hor absence, St. School will 'be in tho charge of Miss Lindorf, M.A., who has recently been associated with Miss Butts. Tho '"breakingup" entertainment and presentation of prizes- in connection with the school take plnco on Saturday evening. Mrs. W. James, who has been staying with relations in Wellington, leaves at the end of the week on a visit to Otaki. Miss Morrison (Masterton) is in town and is staying at Caulfield House.
