PROTEST BY TRADES COUNCIL. . Consequent upon the decision of. ths City Council to run cars on Christmai ■! Day, a deputation consisting of Messrs. 11. J. Reunion (president of tho Trades . j Council), W. C. Noot (secretary), and It. S. Bedford waited upon the Mayor (Mr, i D. M'Laren) with tho object fit- entering a protest. Thellieputation was tlio result . ; of representations mado by tile Trainwaj , Employees' Union to the Trades ' As the City Council by a majority, de< ' cided to run tho sen-ice on the lines re* commended by the Board of Management, the Mayor thought there would bo some / ; difficulty in reopening the matter.
