COMING LABOUR CONFERENCE

The Canterbury Trades and Labour Council has addressed the following circular to the unions affiliated to it:—"The Federation of Labour Ims forwarded a circular asking the various trades unions to be represented at the conference to be held in Wellington on January 2), 3. to consider the difficulties and confronting trades unionism, and to agro, i if possible, upon a basis of comMm-d no j tion that will strengthen■ eae'- .■.■■.! j while making, for the consolio.■■ i u,i ! emancipation of the great working si. j I have been directed by the Canterir;-y ! Trades and Labour Council to urge uliiii- ! at«l unions tu be represented at the conference, as they recognise the need of unity among workers, and welcome any movement which has for its object the consolidation of the working class."
