PRICE OF SPIRITS & TOBACCO
TO BE ADVANCED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Auckland, December 8. After New Tear the price of all spirits and champagne will experience n rise of Gd. per bottle. This action has been decided upon by the Auckland hotolksepers in consequence of circulars which they have received from wholesale merchants, announcing that prices had gone up in the Old Country and on the Continent. Tobacco has also hardened in ' price. According to a circular issued by the Auckland grocers for some time certain cigarettes have been sold nt sd. anil 51(1. per packet, but, after to-morrow, the price will revert to Gd. per packet, which formerly prevailed. A two-ounce tin of tobacco will also be Is., instead of lid. and Hid. —tho prices at which it was sold ik some shops.
