MASTERTON NOTES.

(From Our Sp«oial Correspondsnt.l Mastorton, December 8. Word reached Masterton to-night that a settler of Mauriceville named Eobert Dickson had been found dead in his house with a gun-shot wound in the breast. Deceased was a single man and has resided for some time in the district. Ho was last seen alive about a week He had apparently been dead several days. An inquest will be held to-day. Mr. F. C. Brown, Government Poultry Expert, delivered an address yesterday afternoon under the auspices' of the Farmers' Union. He was accorded a vote of thanks.
