ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

DEATH IN GAOL. Dr. M'Arthur, S.M., held an inquiry on Saturday into the death of a prisonor named John. Johnson, who expired at the Terrace Gaol on Thursday afternoon. Evidence was given to the effect that tho deceased had been under doctors' care and observation lately, and that three doctors had declared him to be insane. Dr. W. K. Fyffe, who made a postmortem examination, deposed that death, was caused by the bursting of a bloodvessel in the vicinity of the heart. The verdict was in' accordance with Dr. Fyffe's evidence, and the Coroner added that every attention had been given Johnson by the gaol surgeon and officials.
