PLUMBING STUDENTS.
A well-attended gathering of plumbing students was held at the Wellington Technical. School last evening] on the occasion of their second annual social and distribution of prizes. The chair was taken-by Mir. W. Earnshaw, engineering. instructor, in the absence,of the chairman of the board. Supper''was provided,, and a . musical programme was given. - . : A feature of the evening was the presentation of prizes, which included eaght Callender and three Technical School scholarships. Instruction, prizes and a kit .of itoolg (donated by Messrs. A. and T. Burt) were pressnted to the success-ful-candidates. . The report, of the year's work was read, and the -resnlt of the city and Guilds of London examination was considered very satisfactory. Included in the toasts were the "Wellington Technical School," "The Plumb-' ing .Trade," and "The Guests." In the Sanitary Institute examination, whichi is the highest examination possible in - sanitary knowledge, ■ there were five entries, and four of the candidates were successful. The successful ones were: Messrs. Parnell, Cowdrey, Lerwell, and Slaughter. ■
