JUDGE ON SAWMILLERB. (By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.) Wanganul, December G. At almost every sitting''oJ the Supreme 3ourt at Wanganni • a case is heard re- ; latirig to the leasing of Native lands, and one of the most common reasons .of the factions is incomplete documents. -. This was mentioned this morning in Raetihi cases, when-Mr. Hutton, addressing tho Court on behalf of defendants, stated, that it was a very peculiar fact that a great many blocks of Native land • in this district, were held under incom- - pleted documents. ' . \ -Mr. Hutchison (who appearing on the other side) concurred in this vieiv. He remarked that-this .state of affairs was. . extremely prevalent in the Waimarino. - The Judge said that,' from his experience; sawmillers'were the "most trustful . of ; men." He .had seen .'innumerable 1 documents relating to timber leases, but almost : without exception, they only lasted in operation as long as timber lasted.
