AN ARCTIC CENSUS.

Mr; Wilhjalar Stefansson, the explorer, will make another expedition to the Arctie regions, revisiting, for the most part, the district which he last explored. This announcement was made, says Keufcer, at the dinner of the Peary Arctic Club in New York. On being asked to give an outline of his plans, Mr. Stefansson said that, the chief objects of the expedition were to obtain an exact scientific census of the population of the Coronation Gulf district, where inhabitants with European traits were discovered by the last expedition, and to explore Banks Land _ and Prince Patrick Island and the adjoining regions. Ho would endeavour to determine tho former range of the Eskimo population, and would make scientific collections of all kinds, and gather every description of scientific information, but especially in the fields of geology and geography. ___
