AN INSPECTION OP PBISONS. (By Teleeranh.—Press Association.) Auckland, December 5. The Minister for Justice (the 'Hoi; A. L. Herdman) is at present engaged on an inspection of the prisons of the Dominion, anil he arrived in Auckland to-day to begin his tour with a-visit to the. Mount ilden prison. ; Mr. Herdmah states that until he has seen! all the prisons for himself he will, not decide upon any policy with regard to. their, administration. ', Mr. Herdman; as Minister' administeirhg the 1 Public Trust Office, states' that early in the New Year a commission ' of two exports will be appointed to inquire .into the working of the Department. .'■.
; Mr. Heribhan informed a reporter tonight that the Crown Law Draftsman is already occupied in preparing legislation for, next session. He states that the Government's Bills will.be ready, for, consideration as soon as < Parliament meets.
