'At the inquest on Mrs. Nowill, whose tody was found on the shore at Newquay. a verdict of found drowned was. returned. Her husband in his evidence said he was sure his wife was a straight woman. The doctor stated that there were no signs of violence on the body. Deceased had died by drowning. ■ The Coroner 6aid that doubtless Delay's heartless and cruel conduct had forced Mrs; Nowill to leave the hotel. There was no evidence as to how she had died. LEGACY OF VOID. (Rec. December 4, 10.50 p.m.) London, December i. The legal opinion is that Mrs. Nowill predeceased Mr. Delay, the solicitor who committed suicide after bequeathing her .£33,000, and that therefore the legacy is void. • The Coroner said he believed that Delay had treated the woman in a heartless way, but it was improbable that he had forced her over the cliff. Dfelay, a retired Singapore solicitor, committed suicide at Newquay, following the mysterious disappearance of Mrs. Nowill; • . ■
