At a mooting of the Wairarapa Hospital and Charitablo Aid Board to-day, n deputation was received fvom.Eketehuna prayimj that a cottage; hospital should be established in that town. It was stated that an'unencumbered .site', of throe.acres was available, together with .a sum of over jeiOOO for. building. After a lengthy discussion a proposal to graut tlio request of the deputation was negatived by 10 votes to G, it being considered inexpedient at tho present fame tocstounstt subsidiary hospitals. -Tho resignation of Sister M'Kay, of Masterton Hospital, over which there had bear a good deal of" controversy, was received and accepted. It was decided that the financial arrangements pertaining to the sub-commit-tee bo transacted through - the. board, sub-coniniittees bsung allowed' small imprest accounts. The. Masterton Hospital Committee tendcrod itsTesignation, which was accented, and a House Committee from the board was eet up in its' stead. Tho Masterton. Borough Council has decided to tender a civic reception-to the Melbourne cricketers,; who play their opening match in Masterton this month.
