SUMMARY AND FORECAST.
Present indications aro for strong northerly and westerly winds in and northwards of Cook Strait, and southerly and south-easterly elsowhero, changing to southerly for a short time everywhere after about 16 hours. Bain is probablo generally, with rivers high, and somo snow on the h,ifcher levels in the south. The barometer is likoly to riso everywhere shortly, but only temporarily In the south. Except for a temporary improvement on Sunday, the weather has .been generally unsettled. Ilain has fallen at times in most parts, with variable and strong winds. p ' B. Y. PEMBERTON.
