The report which- is to be presented at the Petone Ambulance Van Committee's annual general meeting to-night statesthat the number of patients taken to the hospital was 64, this'figure making a, total of 131 since the van was built. The finalises were stated to bo satisfactory, and the report ends by thanking the Gear C-ompany employees, the. I'etono Junior Club; and tho Petone l'ootball Club lor assistanco on Ambulance l)ay. following on sheep worrying by dogs, at the Taita, comes a report from Lower Hutt that'a, number of fowls-liave boeii killed by wandering canines a few nights ago Mr. Willou.ghby farm was visited, ami 175,f0w1s killed in the yard. During the following night the Rev. Jir. Gavlick lost 20 fowls out of'a pen of 21. The Hutt Valley Homing Pigeon Club flew a race from Auckland to Petone last' week-end. The results wero:—Mr. T. Cross's '.'Mary Cable," 1 (velocity 629.58 yards per minute); C. Cough's "Gold Cliff," 2 (velocity, ,627yd5.); C. Gough's "i'aette," 3 (velocity 5!)3.64yd5.).
