Captain llooper, of tho New Zealand training ship Amokura, advised tlie Slarino Department yesterday that when his vessel was in lat. south, and long. 174deg. east, ho sighted, and examined, wreckage which comprised an oregon pipe mast, to which were attached wooden hoops, (loatini; vertical about 12ft. above the water. The diaraeter of the mast wa3 about 18in. The wreckage appeared to havo been in the water about two months. There was also a boom attached to tho end of the mast. As the wreckage was sighted nearly 30 miles off the coast, it wa.3 thought that the ocean current would soon remove it.
