Waneanui's immunity from __ serious crime is again 'showed by the lightness of tho criminal calendar at the Supremo Court sittings, opening on , Weduesday next. No criminal cases are set duivn for trial, the only business of that nature being tho sentencing of a couple of piisoners who have been committed from the Lower Court. There arc eleven civil cases, ono divorce case, and two cases an' bankruptcy. ■ Back-blocks advices state that a great deal of heavy rain is still falling inland, and all tho rivers aro considerably swollen, though not excessively so.
