GUN-RUNNING TO INDIA.
LUCRATIVE FRENCH TRADE. By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright London, November 28, Under cover of an old treaty several French firms, defying the wishes of the Sultan of Oman, an indopondent Tuler in South-eastern Arabia, have beveloped a lucrative trade in guno with the Indian north-west frontier, via Muscat, the capital of Oman. The "Daily Mail" states that France has sent a cruiser to Muscat to put pressure on the Sultan of Oman, who is stopping gun-running at Britain's request. Great Britain is sending a cruiser from China to Muscat.
