TERRITORIAL STRIKE.

DEMONSTRATION AT OFFICER. (By Telegraph.—Spcoicl Oorreanondemt.) Masterton, November 29. A strike of territorials occurred in Mastertion this evening. When tho roll was called, and a junior officer, who had lately received his commission, appeared on the scene, sixteen out of twenty-eight on parade marched out of tho hall. Those who remained were subjected to jeering, and to cries of "scabs." Stones were also thrown on to the roof of the hall, and some damage was done. A large crowd of young men, who had heard of the possible strike, assembled round tho hall, and took part in the demonstration. When the parade was over the young officer was vigorously hooted as ho left tho hall,, and was pelted with eggs as he rode away on his bicycle. For some reason or another none of the senior officers were on.parade. The arrival of the police on the scone prevented the demonstration Ireing more rowdy. Tho territorials'who went on strike state that they object to being drilled by a, boy. of practically no experience. They also allego that his promotion was due to social standing. Tho matter will be reported to Headquarters, and it is expected that an inauiry will be held.
