THE' MINISTER FOR FINANCE.
A VISIT TO HIS CONSTITUENCY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Christchurch, November 29. The Hon. Jas. Allen spent a day in. town .visiting- sovernl institutions under the control of the Education Department. 11l the evening he leit for Buinham, and goes south by the second express to-mor-row. The Minister will be the guest of his constituents at Tiwpelca at a banquet on Wednesday evening, and Kaitongata will be visited on Thursday. Mr. Allen will attend a banquet at Lawrence on Friday night. The banquet will te an important function, for in addition to Mr. Allen, the gathering will be attended by the Prime Minister (the Hon. W.-F. Massey), and several, other Cabinet Mmisters. On his return to Wellington Mr. Allen wilf pass through, Christchurch on Tuesday week, but he will notbreak his jou rner hero. On the following Friday Mr. Allen, accompanied by Mr. Matthews (his private secretary), will leave Wellington for Sydney, joining the Oraroa at Melbourne, for London.
