Chrlstchurfch, November 27. At' the weekly sale, of stock at Addington stock yards to-day there was .fine •weather and' an average attendance of farmers ond buyers. There was' a representative yarding of all clarccs of stock, and in no case wa& the entry in excess of requirements. There was a slight increase in the store and fat sheep ?ections and a deoreaec in. lambs, but otherwit-o-th« yarding waa about equal to that* of the previous market. cinjfi hundred And ciarhty ta&d of tat. e

cattle were penned, against- 259, at the previous sale and 222 on November' 13. Tho quality throughout was good, and though competition was free and tlic-tonc of the market- better than on November 20 there was no quotable change in the value of beef, which sold at prices ranging from 265. to 33e. per ICOlb. Steers made £10 ss. to £16; extra, to £19 100., the last-mentioned price lieing obtained for a- lino of four, year-olds, which tool; first honours in this class at the Metropoti tan show; heifere, £7 ss. to £10 2s. 6d.; and cows, £5 ICs. to £9; extra, to £10 &?.

The-yarding of fat calves was rather helow the average of recent markets, ami thc-r;a!e occupied only a short time. The quality, generally speaking, was satisfactory, as was- also competition, and prices ranged from Bs. to 6Ci;., the latter price being paid for nu exceptionally well finished calf..

There was a smaller entry of fat. lambi in the pens than'at the previous sale, the entries being 445 and 536 respectively. The quality'was not- as good, and a largo proportion of the lainbs were decidedly lighter in .weight. .Competition, however, woe keen, and taking the quality of the lambs into consideration there 'wn« an advaunu ol about Is: per head all round. | Although the entry of store sheep was elightly in excess of that of the' previous week, it was-within a very narrow comBass, and much below requirements. The bulk of the sheep wore of good class, and '/included two or three lines of exceptionally fine woolly hoggete, some forward fourtooth' wethers, u tew pens of shorn wethers, some merinos, and a pen of shorn ewes of various ages, and in low condition, with lambs. With such a. limited supply, there 'was,' paturally a strong demand for all classes, : and' the sale was notable for tho high values ruling, the best class of ewo hogg£t.s being in remarkably good demand. Shorn ewes with lambs (mentioned above) wore /withdrawn- at 12s. Gd., all counted. Shorn two' and four ; tooth wethers, in forward condition, mado 17s. and 17s. Id.; ewe hoggets (in wool),- 225. Id. to '3d.; merino wethers (in wool), 9s. 7d.; and morino -owcu. 9s. ■ .There .was .a medium yarding of fat •cheep, shorn sheep largely, predominating, and all classes were represented. At the opening of tho sale, tha demand was on a par. with that of the. previous week, but as the ■ sale progressed there was a perceptible weakening on the demand, but, taking, the market from start to finish ■ there' .was little . change in valuta from those ruling a, week/earlier.' The range of prices was:—Prime woolly w«ther.s, 2-. 5 . sd. to 295. 3d!; others, Mo; 10d. to'24s.; woolly owes,.. 21s.,<d. to. 265.' 3d.; woolly .hoggets, [.vi. 9d.; woolly merino wethers, 19s. lid. to Ms. 6d.; prime shorn wethers, 195.. to 235. Tho yarding'of .dairy cows was small, the bulk being of useful quality, and the demand was very keen, all sorts being ; eagerly fought- after.' Representative prices ranged from £5 10s. to £10. There were a fair number of- store cattle, and all classes commanded keen competition, buyers being vor,v ; : anxious to secure lines, almost re-: gardloro of condition.
