TBe City Council decided last night: "That the application of. the Wellington Rugby Football'league for the use of.the whole playing aren of the Basiii Reserve, .Newtown Park, Anderson Park, and Ivelburne Park, for the right to charge for admission on 20 days between April 1 and September 30, for, a period of 21 years (for the Basin Reserve, and Newtown Park), the council to take 10 per cent, of the gross takings, witli a minimum of ..£5 for each ground for each day, the council to erect suitable fences and turnstiles, and pay . half the cost of tho gatekeeping, be not entertained."
