THE WEATHER.
SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications aire for moderate to 6trong and variable winds, with southerly to south-easterly breezes predominating'. Cloudy and misty weather 'with showers, probably making a brief ■ improvement shortly. The barometer is unsteady, with a rising tendency at present, but a low-pressure area is due to pass in the south about Sunday night. There haß been considerable rain on the eastern coasts of both islands, and cloudy and 'Unsettled weather haa been experienced generally. Carterton, November 28.—This morning broke fine, and continued bo until noon, when heavy rain set in and continued throughout the afternoon. Featherston, November, 28.—Overcast and misty; rain. Greytown, November 28.—A showery day; no wind. Hastings, November 2B.—Heavy showers have fallen throughout the day.
