TO-DAY'S DINNER. (Specially Written for The Dominion.) THURSDAY. Macaroni' Soup. Stared Steak. Potatoes. Cabbage. Apple Charlotte. APPLE CHARLOTTE. TVo pounds apples, about iioz. sugar, 2 tnblospooufuls water, stale white bread, butter, 2 cloves. Peel, core, and miiico the apples; put Diem into a snncepnn with the sugar, clo\es, and water, and simnier unlil • miito tonder; butter a cliurlotto mould, which must not be too largo nor too deep; c.ut a sulfieient numb?r of thin slices cf stale. bread about tho width of 2 fingers, anil as long as Iho height of tho mould; dip iheso ono nt a time into incited butler, and lino tho sides of tho mould, allowing their edges to overlap well, and so form a sbrviceublo wall. Cover tho bottom of tho mould with slices of bread, which may bo cut in any fancy shape, and dipped in butter bct'oro putting in tho mould; rub the apples through a wiresieve and then put them into tho prepared mould; place on top a round slice of bread buttered on tho outside, and bako in a moderate oven about dO minutes. The bread by this time should he thoroughly baked, 'nnd a nice brown colour. Sprinkle with castor sugar.
