COLLEGE BUILDINGS.
: COMPETITION FOE DESIGNS. At a meeting of the Advice Committee ;of tho Wellington Education Board, held recently, Mr. Carson moved and Mr. Lock seconded, in connection 'with the proposed erection of collie' buildings:— "That Messrs. Campbell and Troup having agreed, subject to tho consent'of the Ministers, to act as adjudicators, the Education Board invite competitive pencil designs (not detail) for the'three coilego buildings—infant school, main schoolV and college—complete plans of the first, sketch plans of the second and third. That the successful competitor be employed to supervise the erection of the infant school; but that, as regards the remaining buildings, for which no grant is now available, tlie board be not committed to an architect. That, in view of the smaller commission available, the amount of the premium be not deducted from the architect's commission. That the building committee bo empowered to proceed on tho lines indicated, to make all arrangements for proceeding with the competition, and subsequently with erection of building." The board adopfed the above resolution at its meeting yesterday.
