PERSONAL ITEMS.

The Hon. W. F. Massey (Prime Minister) is at Auckland, and the Hon. I\ M. B. Fisher at O'hrlstchurch. Tho Hon. H. D. Bell left yesterday afternoon for Nelson. He:will return to Wellington on Sunday next. The other Cabinet Ministors are in Wellington. The Hon. K. H. Rhodes is. confined to his house by,a cold, the result of 1 a chill, but will probablj be able to resume active duties within a day or two. The Hon. Jas. Allen will leave for Dunedin either to-night or tomorrow evening, probably the latter. He will return to 'Wellington on December 11, and leave for England on Dccembor 13.

Sir. W.-C. Buchanan, M.P., hns' completed thirty years' membership of the Wellington Education Board. The Hon. Jas. Allen, Minister for Defence, is to be entertained at a dinner by the Wellington Navy League and the ; Universal. Military Training Committee,' probably on Wednesday, December 11. It is expected that the Admiral of the Australasian Squadron will 'be present. The joint secretaries are Mr. A. G. Hume (for the committee) and Mr. R. Darroch (Navy league).

A private telegram received in Wellington from AVansanui records the death of Mr. Albert G. Hoggard. Deceased was the third son of the-late Mr. John S. Hoggard, of tire Wellington Post Office, and was bom'in Wellington 57 years ago. .He had been in ill-health for some considerable time', and of late was an inmate of the Wanganui Hospital, where he passed away. ■ ■

Ml', and Mrs. W. Montgomery, who liave been on a visit ti> Europe, arrived at Premautle yesterday. They will leave. Sydney on December 7, and arrive in Wellington on December 11. Mrs. Montgomery is a daughter of tho Hon. Jas. Allen. Her husband at one time represented Akaroa in the House of Representatives.
