(Before Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M.) MAINTENANCE.. For having disobeyed maintenance orders which the l Court had. made, Ethel. F. Guilford was sentenced to two weeks' imprisonment, and Gratton Samuol Conolly was fined £1. The warrant against Ethel Guilford is to be suspended so long as she pays 2s. per week oft' the arrears. Mary Patterson was ordered to pay ss. towards the support of her son, who is in the Stoke Industrial School; Alexander M'Guire was ordered to pay 3s. per week towards the support of his mother; and Henry Potter was ordered to pay 7s, 6d. per week towards the support of a child in a receiving home. SEAFARERS. George Albert Stead and Walter Chapman were each sent to prison for one month for having deserted the steamer Tongariro. John Middleton was sentenced to two weeks' imprisonment for having assaulted John Macfee, and was fined £2, in default one week's imprisonment, for having used objectionable language. STREET TROUBLES. Albert Scott and Percival. Sydney Furlong were eacli fined ,£1 on charges of having broken the peace by 1 fighting in a public street. James Metcalfe was fined £2 for having resisted Constable Sheahon, who arrested him for insobriety. - For having used objectionable language, May M'Gowan and John Gallagher were each fined .£3. SUNDAY SHOPS. Neil Austin and Joseph Hannah were each fined jEI, and Sarah Alice Todd 10s., for having kept shops open on Sunday. OTHER CASES. For insobriety, William Egan was fined -£3, George Waters XI, Martin Samtiel«on ~1, Daniels £2, and Annie Winifred. Dunn was sent to Pakatoa for one year. For having broken prohibition orders, Samuel Cameron was ordered to pay Court costs (95.), John Hyde was fined J!3, and Patrick Rice was fined £4. Mr. H. F. O'Leary appeared for Cameron, and stated that his client, who was a porter, had simply gone into a hotel to carry out some luggage, ancl that he had done this without knowing that his action was in contravention of the laif.
