LONDON PERSONALS. London, October 17. Lord and Lady Liverpool sail for New Zealand by tho Malwa on Novcinbor 1, Mr. B. Foster, of Christchurch, is at present staying in Forfarshire. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Montgomery, of Little River, Canterbury, left by the Osterloy on Friday. Dr. and Mrs. G. E. Gabites, of Timaru, sail for tome by the Marmora in November. Mr. Robert Stewart, of Dunedin, after four months on the Continent is staying with relatives in Edinburgh. Tho Earl and Countess of Liverpool and Sir William Hall-Jones were among tho callers on the High Commissioner last week. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Bowlier, junior, of Christchurch, have booked passages by the Orvieto, sailing on December 20. Miss M. Horton, of Auckland, who has been away from New Zealand for over threo years, is now on her way back. Mr. Wm. Moore, of Kaiapoi, and Mr. H. Milliken, of Timaru, left for New Zealand on Thursday last. Mr. H. B. Hordcrn, of Wellington, and his wife and two daughters, have returned from a long tour in Norway, and are now- in Scotland. They leave by tho Orama early in December. Mr. Walter Taylor, of Wellington, who arrived in London in July, was successfully operated upon-for appendicitis a fortnight ago, and is progressing favourably. Mr. and Mrs. Percy 0., Gwilliam (formerly Miss Muriel Knight, of Auckland) have taken up their residence at Pendennis, Charlton Park, Keynsham, Briis-

tel. . . Mr. and Mrs. James Fenwick, of Auckland, who! have been' visiting friends in Devonshire, returned to London last week, and are now-staying at Wimbledon. Mr. Arthur Butte, of Wellington, arrived in London some two months ago, and is staying with his sister, Mrs. W. P. Hothorington, in Suffolk, until the end of October.

Mr. A. H. Miles, of Wellington, of Messrs. Murray, Roberts and Co., and -the Misses Miles, who have been staying for some considerable time at theAlexan-' dra Hotel, Hyde Park, left last week for home.

Dr. A. M'Donall, of the Colonial Service, arrived back from New Zealand last week, where he has been visiting his parents in Oamaru during his six months leave. His youngest brother, who is a mining engineer, accompaniod him to England. Mr. .Wm. Kenneth Eady, of. Auckland, has just returned from a tour through England and Scotland, and .will spend the. next six months studying the pianoforte business with Messrs. Chappell. Ho then goes to Germany, France, ,and America.. Mr. R. J, the "old Oxford Blue, 'Varsity champion feather-weight in 1905, and runner-up for the Amateur Boxing Association Feather-weight Championship' in 1909;. leaves England with his wife and parents for his fourth trip' to New Zealand during November. Mr. Bamberger came originally from Christchurch. ■

The High Commissioner was on Friday the guest of Mr. Cathcart Wason, M.P., at the House of Commons for the Home Rule debate. Saturday was spent with Mr. W. D. Lysnar, ex-Mayor of Gisborne, visiting the London Docks, and on Tuesday Mr,' Mackenzie attended a meeting of the British Empire Trade Marks Association, and seconded the main resolution.
