THE WEATHER.
SUMMARY AND FORECAST Present indications are for a falling barometer in the north, with allies clouding over and rain following. Unsettled and cloudy weather with rain probnblc in the south, where the barometer is now unsteady, and due to rise shortly. High northerly to westerly winds probable in the north, and westerlies to southerlies in the south. A westerly area of low pressure has dominated weather conditions .since Saturday. There has been increasing haze and cloudiness generally, with heavy rain on the West Coast and southernmost districts of the South Island, but warm and sultry weather on parts of the Eastern Coast 6 of both islands.
