WORK AT REEFTON MINES.
MEN POURING IN. (By Telegraph.—Pre3S Association.) Reefton, November 24, Agreements between the Miners' Union and the Consolidated Gold Fields and other mines have been registered under the Arbitration Court. The matter of replacing the men at work is proceeding slowly. Several contracts have bee>n let and the men are at work, but owing to the stoppage of strike pay, and many men not getting contracts, 6ome are feeling a very tight pinch. Arrangements as to contracts are proceeding fairly well, but naturally some dissatisfaction exists in the ranks of unsuccessful tenderers. At a meeting of the Miners' Union some plan to stop the under-cutting of prices was devised. Men, pouring in all sides expecting immediate work are disappointed and have to wait till the contracts are out. Meantime there is not an empty house in Reefton. Men are again going out to the Progress mines after nearly a year of stagnation there.
