WHAT THE HAIRDRESSERS? WANT. . (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Dunedin, Novembm 22. A deputation representing tho hairdressers waited on the Hon. Mr. Fisher today to urge that a heavy import duty be placed on wigs, switches, curls, and made-up hairdressing accessories. A duty of 6G per cent, was asked for. It was stated that the-raw material imported was certified to as being sterilised, but made-up goods were not certified to, 'and might constitute a danger to the public. The Minister said it was certain that there raiuid bo a revision of the tariff next session. If there was any menace to the publio or tlie trade through importation of goods mentioned, he thought the Government would make provision to do away .with it. What could be manufactured in New Zealand would be protected and encouraged as far as possible. ' .' -
