e Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows:—We held our annual fair at Paliiatua on November-21, when a good yarding of all was offered. The numbers were not quite up to those advertised, although well over. 1000 head were yarded, a noticeable. feature being the shortage in grown steers as compared with provious years, this, no doubt, being accounted for by the backwardness of the season, farmers naturally deciding not to offer their bulloolis in indifferent condition. The attendance ■ was large, Wairarapa, Manawatu, and Hawke's Bay being well represented, for which districts the bulk of the cattle were bought. There was a keen demand for all clascn, and we have to report a very large clearance at flrst-clasa values, Mr. E. T. liarth'orp topping tho market at £7 with a very .nice pen of 3-year-old fresh-conditioned bullocks. Quotations: Fat bullocks, £7 19s. 6d.; forward bullocks, £6 9s. to £7; Rood 3-year bullocks, £5 10s. to £6 45.: back-ward-conditioned 1 J-year bullocks, £5 3s. to £5 lte.; 4-year bullocks, £6 12s.
