Tlie Postmaster-General, Mr. Herbert Samuel, in replying in the House of Commons to a question by Major ArcherSliee, Unionist member for Central Pinsbury, admitted that he had received the Commonwealth's dispatch complaining of. the insufficiency of the cable concessions announced in April last, and suggesting tlio calling of a subsidiary conference. Mr. Samuel said since the dispatch had been received considerable further Atlantic reductions had been effected, and the Pacific Cable Board was contemplating new arrangements. Ho intended suspending his reply to the Commonwealth Government pending the completion of those arrangements.
