, An interesting .exhibit at the dinner of tho I.C.S. Students' Association on Wednesday evening was a huge cake some three feet high. This cake was designed in the form of a lighthouse, the central idea being that the I.C.S. (International Correspondence Schools) point the way to success. Eight panels were provided, in' eao'h of which soriie novel design was introduced illustrating certain popular courses of instruction, and the stages through which an I.C.S. student passes when engaged in carving out his career. One of the most effective of these depicts the student who has completed his course of study vaulting over a barrier (want of education) right into tho manager's chair. In another panel appears a very good'picture of Sir Joseph Ward, patron of the association. Many appropriate mottoes were introduced round the borders., and between the ■ panels, and effective : use' is made of the I.C.S. monogram in purplo •and gold.- On the steps leading up to the lighthouse, four buoys .are .provided conI'.taininp'photograpis of Mr. T. J. Foster (president' of the schools), Mr. E. A. Seitz (managing director), Mr. J. G. Smith '(general- manager for Now Zealand),, and Mr. '.F. E.' Johnson (manager of the students' . aid The whole of this "unique production is made. of' sugar, and was designed and executed by on© of the I.C;S. students,-. Mr.'-' G. E. Grantham, of the Lower- Hutt.'■■'.■The model will be exhibited, in the window-of the local office of the schools, 63 Dixon Street, during tho next few days. .

This Woman Lost Health Through Anaemia, ..__ —» _.. Fainted Dead Away Through Utter ; Weakness—Cured by Dr. Williams' Pink Pills. There is a grateful woman in Christchurch, in the person of Mrs. Henry Merry, 78 Carlyle Street, Sydenham. Mrs. Merry drifted into such a' low state of health through anaemia/ that it was quite common for her to faint off through utter weakness, and she is thankful that Dr. Williams' Pink Pills brought her robust health. These Pills are the ideal tonic for those who are weak and run down, because they renew and enrich the blood and act as a powerful tonic on the nervous system. Speaking to an interviewer, Mrs. Merry said:— : "With over-work in my girlhood my .health gradually gavo way. First of all I noticed I was losing all my appetite, and unless I. could get liold of anything acid or salt I.would not care if the, whole day passed without a bite. The colour deserted my cheeks; you could not see any rosine'ss anywhere. My tongue and lips and gums and' inner eyelids were all blanched.' If I pricked the flesh only alittle watery fluid trickled out. I lost all my plumpness and in this way went down very rapidly indeed till I was a" shadow of my former self. My ankles got puffed up if I had any standing; you could make dents and pits in tho flesh. I always felt worse in the mornings. I woke up so utterly tired and worn and often 1 fainted right away. My hands were so clammy and 1 could not get my feet warm. I still stuck to my daily work, but it was only my will kept me up, and I had to get liolp in as well. My heart started to flutter and thump if I went up tho least bit of an incline. I just had to go slowly, and even then I lost my breath and had to rest. I often .woke up after a restless nightmare sort of a doze, and found myself all in a cold sweat and trembling. I got worse as time wont on; I never wanted to pass tho front door and I could not enjoy any company; I was always fretting and low-spirited and feemed to get weaker every day.' My eyes looked sunken in my head and dark lines began to show under them, Whenever I had a chance ,1 sat down for I felt my limbs'just sinking under me. At last I ,read about Dr. Williams' Pink Pills and started taking them three times a day, a pill after each meal, and once I began to pick up I increased the doses. They proved a wonderful blood-maker. My strength began to return, and people remarked what a good colour I was getting, and how very much better. I was looking and I felt the improvement myself; My blood turned rich again, and I am glad to say I was at last completely cured." - Those who need a tonic should be particular to get Dr. Williams' Pink Pills, for they will find only disappointment in the substitutes that are sometime* offered. The price is 3s. o box, six boxes Ids. fid., of nil dealers or direct. from Tho Dr. Williams' Medicine Co. 'of Australasia, Wellington.
