Bell. , The credit balance at the bank was reported BS-X2371 9s. 7d., so that after allowing for the prospective mouth's payments, of .£BBS 19s. 9d„ there will be a ore'dit of .£1485 9s. lOd. Tho amount on fixed deposit is • 41020. '■ ' It was reported by the Finance Committee that Miss Myers, Demonstrator in Biology, had sent in her resignation, to take effect at the cud of the year. Professor Kirk suggested as her successor Miss H. M.-Jenkins, M.A., with secondolass honours in botany, to which the council agreed, the appointment to dato for ono year from February 1 next. Prof. Piclren wrote on tho subject of tho Macarthy Trust, asking if tho council's committee would welcome a report from tho Professorial Board in regard thereto. The Finance Committee recommended that the council's committee, should meet a committee from the Professorial Board. —On the motion of Sir Robert Stout, it was decided to refer the matter to the committee previously set up to deal with the question. ■A letter from the Secretary of the Post and Telegraph Department 'stated that the Department had agreed to the conditions proposed for the instruction of officers of the Department in telegraph, telephone, and 'wireless telegraph engineering at Victoria College, and a voucher for the initial grant of £125 would be authorised forthwith—On the motion of Mr. AVatson, it was decided to ratify the agreement between the Department' and, the counoil. • .; .
