J .P., Frederick Crompton, a' habitual drunkard,. was-remanded for seven days, for medical ■ treatment. The following handicaps have been declared for' the Peto'ne Junior Club's sports meeting, to be .run on the Petono Recreation Ground, this evening:— 50yds.—First heat: House, 2yds.; ■E. Ryan, 4yds.; Boyd, lyds.; Howe, syds.; J. Corson, T. Price, and Smith, Gyds. Second heat; Ramsden and Daley, 3yds.; Calcinai, 'Uyds.; W. Ryan and Tressider, syds.; Miller and E/Price, Gyds. ■BSoyds.—Tressider, 30yds.; Howe, 45yds.; Corson and Mason, 50yds.; E. Ryan, 55yds.; Calcinai, Chapman, Thompson, Houre, and N. Ryan, GOyds.; Boyd, Smith, Daley, Wilson^'GS'yds.; E. Price and Tr Price, 70yds<; Wallis, 75yds. There, will also .be ■ two schoolboys' events. Tho settlers of Normaiidalo are giving; a benefit concert in the Crown Picture Thoatro, Lower Hutt; next Tuesday, in aid of a widow, .who has been left in necessitous circumstances.
