■ —fr » SENSATIONAL INCIDENT AT THE HUTT. A sensational incident, which ie causing some comment, in the district, happened at Lower Hutt on Sunday evening, when two ladies, Mrs. Archer and Misa Anderson—residing on White's Line East —when returning home from . church, along the Woburn Road, just opposite Bellevue Gardens, were accosted by a man wearing a mast, who overtook them, and, catching Mrs. Anderson by the era, ordered ' both ladies to hand over their purses'. With great presence of mind, Mrs. Archer wrenched her arm free, and remonstrated with her assailant so vehemently that the highwayman backed away, went down Nikan Avenue, and disappeared in some bushes. The ladies 6tate that the man had somothing ia "his right hand. The matter was reported to the police, and inquiries have been made, but so far no arrest has been reported,
