W. Eraser is at Dunedin,. and the Hon. Dr. Pomare at Huntly. The Hon. Jas. Allen returned yesterday from ' Dunedin, and left for Auokland. in the evening. The Hon. W. H. Hevries will leave today for Auokland, and. the Hon. F. M. B. Fisher this evening for Dunedin. The Hon. A. L. Herdrivan and the Hon. H. D. Bell remain in Wellington. The Hon. Janies Allen arrived in Wellington from- the south by the -ferry steamer yesterday. - He 1 expected to spend tho night in Wellington, but he received a telegram froih the. Prime Minister ask-, ing him to come on to Auckland, -and he left by the express train,last night. He, will stay at - Auckland for about three days, itnd on his return journey he will visit. Wanganui, Hrirton, and probably Palnierston, to. investigate some' schoolproposals'in these towns. He will remain in Wellington for. some days, and then he is to visit his own electorate of Bmice before leaving for England oh December 13. The Hon. F. ,M. B. Fisher is to leave for Dunedin to-night, where he will open tho Dunedin Industrial Exhibition. This engagement will make it impossible for Mr. Fisher to go to Auckland, as he had intended, to. attend the banquet to the Prime Minister on November 19.. Mr. Justice Cooper returned frdiri AnokJand yesterday. , , Colonel Heard,' Major Maidlow, and Captain Symons arrived in ..-Wellington from the south yesterday.. Drs. Marshall and Hunter' were passengers by the Maori from Lyttelton yesterday. . . Professors Blunt and Parkham arrived in Wellington yesterday. Dr. Wohlmann, the Government bahieologist at Rotorua, is to leave Anckland bv the Mahono to-day for Sydney. He'will be away on a year's leave of absence in England. Dr. Wohlmann will be accompanied by his wife and daughter. The R«v. H. 0. Hanby is resigning his charge of the Anglican Church at Taumarunui at the end of the year, having, accepted a position as' curate at.St. Barnabas Church, Auckland. It will be twelve months before Mr. Hanby,-who recently met witib." a. serious accident, is snfficicntly well to use an artificial limb that he can ride with. It is probable his place at Taumarunui will be filled by a Taranaki clergyman, who went- Home for training, and is now on his way out to the Ohura. The death occurred on Saturday of Mr. Alexander William Bock, of Hokitika, head' of Hi© looal firm of Johnston and Co., aged 60 years (states a Press Association telegram)! Deceased was a prominent citizen, and was formerly a member of most local bodies. ■He ledves a widow and family of one son and five daughters. Deceased was, a resident of Hokitika for forty-six years. At the annual meeting of Messrs. C. M. Banks, Ltd., held on November 14, Mr. John M. Wilson, manager of the stationery department, was elected a director of the company. Mr. C.; M. Banks, in proposing Mr. Wilson as a member of the board, referred to his. loyal and faithful services of 15 years, which he trusted would be rewarded in the manner proposed, and expressed the opinion that his election would also make his : services of greater value to the company. Bandmaster Harry Arthur M'Cornish, bandmaster ( of-' the Fifth (Wellington) Regimeht, has been promoted to warrant rank.
