LYELL DISASTER.
DEAD MAN WINS £10,000, By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Hobart, November 15. There is no change at the Nbrth Lyell Mine, Water is still going into tho shaft, ■but in greatly decreased quantity owing' to the last two days' fine Weather, James Berry, aged 19, who was among the first to eseape from the mine, has died from pneumonia. Studwell, whoso body is still in the 500 ft level, won ,£lO,llOO in a Tatter&iU's sweep in tho Melbourne Cup. The prize has been forwarded to his relatives, who .live near Sydney. The Premier, Mr. -A. E. Solomon, has made a statement that the inquest on the victims of the fire in the North Lyell Mine is being delayed because it is impossible to obtain tho bodies. It has been decided to hold an immediate inquiry into tho cause of disaster. The jury will be chosen on a nov4 plan. Tho Superintendent of Police at Zeehan will select 80 residents, IK of whom will be practical miners. The Premier and Leader of the Opposition will then choose seven, from this number, ,of whom, three will lie practical miners. The Warden of Mines will act as chairStan.
