'Froin Our Special Correspondent.) PETONE S.M. COURT. At the Potono Polico Court yesterd&y morning, before Messrs. M'Ewiui, Coles, and Jlothes, J.P.'s, a young man named James Gibbous ivas charged with (1) using obscene language, and (2)-Assaulting Constable Garffiomly. Accused, who pleaded not guilty, was defended by Mr. Wilfonl, The police evidence stated that, on November 7, defendant was indulging in some horse play in the street, and when Constable Carmoiuly spoke tn him, accused had used obscene language. Later on, Gibbous assaulted the constable while oh ihe mad to the lock-up, accused "kicked and punchod the constable. After hearing the evidence of various wifni'SMs, ihe Bench entered « conviction., rwl imposed a fine of Jtt. in default 30 plays' imprisonment on each charge.
