OTAKI NOTES.

HOROWHENUA SPRING SHBW. : [Prom Our Special Correspondent.) A'meeting of the committee of the Horowhenua Spring show was held last night at the Otaki Town Sail. Present: Misses Freeman and Cockrell, Messrs. H, Small (acting-chairman), H. Cockrell, C< L. Hartmann, L. Kilniister, W. W. Wostaway, P. Taylor, and Frank Penn. The secretary was authorised to make arrangements for music at the show, and for luncheon for the judges and <iOHimittee; ■. The following were appointed class stewards, to attend to the staging of exhibits .and wait pu the judges for the respective sections:— Pot plants, cut blooms, fruit and vegetables, Messrs. Cockrell, V. Taylor, W. Knight, and W. W. 'Westaffsj , ; needlework, Misses Freeman and ■ Cockrat; schoolirork, Mr. H. Freeman; domestic, Messrs. Kilmister nnd Sawyer; desorative, Miss Powell and Mr. Small A' discussion ensued re the show regulation which stipulates that all,pot plants exhibited must be in proper flower pots. It was stated that several growers of pot .plants had riot had sufficient notice to have their plants re-potted, and if the .regulation were strictly enforced many exhibits would be lost to the show. It was eventually decided that the regulation be waived for this show only. Thus 'it, will bo permissible to exhihit. plants grown in vessels other than proper flower ■ pots. ...'•'■ '■•■•'•,
