THE INJURED CONSTABLE, Constable Wade was stationed at Mount Cook, Wellington, at the time of his dispatch to_ Waihi with the special contingent of pbUca* : constables. He joined the fores in IMO. For some time he was stationed' at Lambton Quay, and the wharves was one of the beats to which ha was frequently assigned. On the transference of Constable Doyle from Mount.Cook to Lambton Quay a few months ago, Constable Wade was sent to Mount Cook to do the "inquiries" work. Ho is single, and hails from the Auckland district. OATH OF. ALLEGIANCE, A circular from tho Waihi Borough '' Council asking the council to pass a resolution to the effect that there bo imposed, an oath of allegiance to the King and country and the flag in all futuns agreements of employment was endorsed by the Karori Borough Council at its meeting last evening. RESOLUTION BY BUTCHERS' UNION. At a specal meeting of the Wellington. The -union also expresses its disgust at the different treatment meted out to the arbitrationists who apparently are the first to do acts of violence in connection with the Waihi trouble. No'action as far as can be ascertained has been taken against them."
